Create a Recipe from Scratch
Use Manual Entry to build your own recipe, add the right details, and decide whether it should stay private or public.
Manual Entry is the right path when you want full control over a recipe from the start. It is useful for original recipes, family recipes, or any recipe that would be slower to clean up through import.
Step by step
Follow these steps in order for the smoothest first pass.
Open the create area and choose Manual Entry
Manual Entry gives you a blank starting point so you can write the recipe exactly the way you want it to appear in RecipMe.
Fill in the main recipe details first
Start with the title, description, timing, servings, and difficulty so the recipe has a usable structure before you move into ingredients and steps.
Add ingredients, equipment, and steps clearly
Use clear names, realistic amounts, and clean step-by-step directions so the recipe is easy to search, scale, and cook later.
Add an image and final polish if you have it
An image is optional, but a clean image and a short description make the recipe easier to recognize when you come back later.
Choose whether the recipe should be public or private
Keep it private if you are still testing or refining it. Make it public when the recipe is ready to share more broadly.
Save it and look for it in My Cookbook under My Creations
Once the recipe is saved, My Creations becomes the best place to review it, update it, and keep improving it over time.
Quick tips
Small habits that make the feature easier to use.
- Clear titles and ingredient names make later search much easier.
- It is fine to keep a recipe private until you trust the final version.
- If you already have part of the recipe somewhere else, copy the essentials first and refine the wording later.
